A church in mission will stand in solidarity with the poor and needy while challenging injustice and oppression. This event is an opportunity for any interested person to engage in a process of understanding how to apply Christian ethics to a significant social issue for Australia and the world our response to refugees.
We will be guided by the Rev'd Dr Gordon Preece BA, MA, MScSoc, ThL, DipMin, BD, PhD.
Gordon is currently Director, Centre of Applied Christian Ethics at Ridley College, Melbourne. He will succeed Robert Banks as Director and Dean at Macquarie Christian Studies Institute from July 2004.
Gordon is a world leader in the field of marketplace theology and leadership. He has a passion for the exegesis of Scripture and culture and a great ability to connect the two. He is a prolific writer who is able to address both popular and academic audiences. His recent books include Rethinking Peter Singer (2002), Christianity and Entrepreneurship (1999), and Starting with the Spirit (2001).
