Nostalgia Now goes to the Movies
Do you remember a song that takes you back to a particular place or time? Rogers and Hammerstein musicals of the 50s and 60s give just that experience, although in their time they raised provocative issues, such as mixed marriages. Going to the movies can evoke memories and songs that have been part of our lives for so long. For me, I listened to these songs on vinyl records whilst lying on the carpet listening to my parents' stereogram. We invite you to re-live these musicals of a bygone era today. We have booked three sessions at the State Cinema in North Hobart to show a selection of Rogers and Hammerstein musicals - Friday 30 March, Friday 26 June and Friday 28 September. The cost will be $14 per person. It will be a great opportunity for a day out - see the film in the morning and maybe follow on with lunch at a North Hobart café afterwards.
Contact Bruce Geeves or Rebecca on 6220 2020 to secure your place - tickets are limited! |
