Gathering Momentum

Youth ministry 'Bop with God' members from the Parish of Circular Head report that they attended the ministry conference for the first time, with a contingent of 32 converging on Camp Clayton. (The challenge is on for next year to see if this record can be broken).

It was a great honour and a challenge for our team to lead Sunday's morning worship, as some of us are fairly new to leadership roles in ministry. Not sure if Bishop John felt it an honour when he was the target in the skit, being hit with a handbag by a very angry elderly lady and being threatened by an elderly man with his walking stick. It was soon revealed to him why he was asked to sit up the front.

The highlight for our children was the water rockets, which they made and launched. The children enjoyed the ODDSOX concert. This group has a very special ministry, a fun way of teaching children about God. We all appreciated the music of the New Norfolk Band and the Bible teaching. There was a lovely time of sharing ideas with other members from around the diocese, through the Momentum Market. We all came away with something.

Paul's film clip on Sunday morning brought the whole assembly hall to tears, and gave us much food for thought, at how much more God can offer us if we are willing to step out in faith and walk that extra mile with Him. It also made us realise just how blessed we are. In conclusion we would just like to thank Paul, Rebecca and their committee for a great weekend.

Big questions were tackled at Gathering Momentum:
'How can I use my toad collection for God?'

Plenty of fun, games and sharing ideas at the weekend
