CMS Tasmania appoints new General SecretaryPam Lake will take up the position of part-time General Secretary of CMS Tasmania, from 1 August 2006. Pam and her husband Andrew moved to the Parish of Sorell, Tasmania, in November 2004 with their two youngest children, Jonathan and Miriam. Their two older daughters, Hannah and Susanna, are studying in Melbourne. Pam trained as a nurse and midwife in Melbourne and has worked in hospitals as far apart as Australia, India and Indonesia. She gained a Master of Health Studies in 2004. Her theological studies include the Preliminary Theological Certificate from Moore College, completed in 1995. She is an Authorised Lay Reader in the Diocese of Tasmania. Pam and Andrews involvement with CMS goes back to the early days of their marriage when Andrew was the CMS-Queensland Youth Director. More recently, they spent the years between 1996 and 2004 as CMS missionaries in Jakarta where Andrew was the Rector of All Saints, an international church with a very varied range of mission opportunities. Most recently Pam has been working at Glenview Home as a Support Worker and Outreach Administrative Assistant. Her hobbies include craft, gardening, running, swimming, reading biographies and hospitality. Pam is looking forward to her new task. She has a
passion for making Tasmanian churches and individual
Christians more aware of CMS and its work around the world
and for helping people discover how they too can be
involved. Pam will be commissioned on Wednesday 9 August,
5.30pm at Holy
Trinity, Hobart.
