FTBD Clergy moves
These notes are selected from Bishop John
Harrowers regular email newsletter, From The
Bishops Desk.
- The Rev. Ross
Chopping finished his ministry in the Parish of
Glenorchy
on 30 June 2006. After much prayer Ross and Wendy have
made the decision to seek Gods leading into a
different ministry.
- The Rev. Jo
Pycroft has accepted the position of Chaplain to the
Anglican
Mens Society of Tasmania.
- The Rev. Brian
Curtis has accepted the position of Priest in Charge
of the Parish of the Northern
Midlands.
- The Rev. Dr Tom
Wallace AM, has been appointed Educational Advisor to
the Bishop
- The Rev. Helen
Chick is on the move having completed her curacy in
Longford.
In mid-September Helen will take up the position of
Priest in Charge of the Furneaux
Islands Parish. This will be fulltime until
January. Helen has also accepted the Bishops
invitation to serve as Assistant Spiritual Director for
Cursillo
in our Diocese. The Rev. John
Tongue is the Spiritual Director.
- The Rev. Canon Neville
Newett commenced retirement with his final service in
the Parish of Ulverstone
on Sunday 16 July after 34 years of fulltime ordained
ministry in the Diocese of Tasmania.
- The Rev. Bill
Jolly will retire later this year, however his last
service was on Sunday, 30 July. We thank Bill most
sincerely for his faithfulness in ministry, not only at
St
Georges, but also through his work in earlier
parishes and positions across several states.
- The Rev. Alan
Bulmer will take up a new part-time position as
Priest in Charge of the Parish of Cressy
from 1 September, with a second position that will be
announced in due course. Alan has ministered faithfully
in the Parish of Deloraine
for 12 years.

Please keep the process of looking for new people to fill
the vacant parishes in your prayers. The parishes that are
vacant at present are South
Launceston, Buckland,
Devonport,
Moonah,
Sandford and
Glenorchy
