The Common Games

As part of the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay in Tasmania, the Swansea community held a Common Games Day on the 11th of March. Everyone cheered as one of our parishioners, Dorothy Lord, carried the baton.

Dorothy represented the many community groups in which she is involved. The church team in the Common Games was ‘The Bahamas’ and won Gold.

Also, a Thanksgiving Service for Volunteers was held at Jubilee Beach in Swansea. Many of the volunteer organisations joined in and we gave thanks for their part in the life of the community. It was a great and a humbling experience to be able to pray for the needs, safety and future of our service groups.
