Vale - Elizabeth Fox

The Thanksgiving Service for Elizabeth Fox at St Luke's, Campbell Town on 7th February, gave us an opportunity to pay tribute to a wonderful woman and to thank God for her life and for her contribution to so many aspects of church and community life,

Elizabeth and her husband Howard have been Synod Representatives and Parish Councillors for many years and very involved in Parish life; the Parish of Northern Midlands will miss her greatly. So will the community, for she worked with many local organisations including Meals on Wheels, Girl Guides and Regional Arts. Elizabeth was a Life Member of Mothers' Union, serving at Branch and Diocesan level for forty years. [We believe that she first attended meetings with her Mother.]

During her six years as Diocesan President she travelled around the State visiting Branches, offering support, encouragement and understanding to all. Executive meetings were held in her home and MU visitors and World Presidents all experienced her warm hospitality. She attended MU Australian Council several times and journeyed with Howard to MU World Council in England in 1998.

Elizabeth is greatly missed by those who worked with her and whose lives she touched.
