KANGA takes off - thanks to God!Take many excited children, a clown, prizes, fun, tomato sauce, parents, treasure, balloons, puppets, hot snags, plenty of cordial, water and willing parish helpers and you have the KANGA (Kids' Anglican Church of Australia) 2006 Fun Day for the community at St Helens. The weather was wonderful despite threatening to develop a thunderstorm later. More than 73 children registered, many more didn't officially sign up - so maybe there were 90 plus, as well as parents, grandparents and big kids! Rainbow Clown was our special visitor, with Larry the Worm and his mates. Rainbow told how God was our Father, powerful, awesome, loving. All children received a Certificate of Participation and could throw a gumboot, run with an egg (or mouse) on a spoon, catch the rat, ride stilts or throw a sponge at the stocks, and enjoy a BBQ.
