Journey to the other
end of the earth

The ordination in February brought together two people who have travelled to the other side of the world to be ministers. Bruce Geeves talls the story

Each has gone his separate way, until they both came to Tasmania and were convinced that they should serve God as ordained ministers.

They lived in neighbouring towns, and their mothers were friends, but they had no idea what was ahead of them in life.

Alex Withers and Simon Hattrell took this journey and continue their lives in our diocese. Simon joined the army and Alex became a jackaroo in Australia. After many years they both arrived in Tasmania where their lives were turned around by God.

It is good to be reminded that God has plans for our lives far beyond what we can envisage. For Simon and Alex, each is a reminder of the 'amazing plans' of God.
