A Note From The Bishop’s Desk

If you have a chance please visit the renovated St James of Jerusalem at Colebrook. A terrific job has been done, and in line with the readings of the day they have been faithful in the use of their talents as we await the second coming of our Lord. The stained glass windows in the sanctuary were the basis of my sermon: the two side panels the 'alpha' and 'omega', the A to Z, the transcendent, almighty creator God who is at the beginning and the end of all, and the centre panel with Holman Hunt's picture of The Light of the World knocking at the door of our lives, the very nearness of Emmanuel, 'God with us'.

What a vision our forebears place before us on each occasion that we come to worship. Praise God for the dedicated people of Colebrook in the Parish of Sorell, Richmond and Tasman. May God continue to minister to many lives through them.
