Clergy moves

  • The Cathedral welcomed two new Clerical Canons: John Tongue of Holy Trinity, Hobart and David Rietveld of BayWest, and one Lay Canon, Shelagh Shaw of the Cathedral Parish. David Lewis has served as a Cathedral Canon for many years and was appointed as a Diocesan Canon with special responsibility in the area of the Defence Force.
  • Mission Support Officers Bob McKay (Northern Rural Region) and Ross Nicholson (Tamar Region) have been collated as Archdeacons at St John's, Launceston.
  • Kingston and Bellerive are seeking Rectors and the Cathedral seeks a Dean - please keep these parishes in your prayers.
  • Wendy Knott and Rosemary Perrott-Russell, honorary priests in the Parish of Franklin-Esperance have concluded their ministries after dedicated service in this large parish.
  • Rick Cartledge from St Mark's on the Hill, Launceston, has announced his retirement from 28 February 2006

Pictured with Bishop John and Acting Dean Royce Thompson are the ten deacons and priests who were ordained in the Cathedral in October - a most joyful occasion.
