Beats a street stall!

Louise Priest tells of wealth aplenty in Wynyard.

The Harvest Festival at St Stephen's in Wynyard celebrated not only the produce of toil in the garden and the fruits of labours in the kitchen but also the results of God-given talents.

There was so much on display that there was no room to get into the chapel. The 8am service worshipped from the choir stalls and while the Rev. Gordon Tyson was giving his sermon on riches of a different kind, the congregation was encouraged to walk around the display. What we discovered on that Sunday was a wealth of talent, a rather rich parish. An auction of all produce afterwards raised more than $500 for Roland Children's Services. We all reckon it beats a street stall any day.
