Anyone seen my dog?It was smiles all round when Rainbow the Clown arrived at our annual community Fun Day this year. From Wendy Holland The children were so excited to see Rainbow, lead in hand, talking to her invisible Dog. She had us all convinced! Some women from the Christian Fellowship next door offered to entertain the children with puppets and dress up as clowns for our Fun Day. We got far more than we bargained for and with the puppets they shared a strong gospel message. The sun was shining on lots of kids and parents and all the usual fun stuff: BBQ, TugOWar, Boot Throw, Egg and Mice Spoon Race and Treasure Hunt. Quite a few tourists joined in. Over three years we have built up wonderful sponsorship; our three supermarkets never miss the chance to help. However, as you will no doubt have guessed, Rainbow and the puppets were the biggest hit on the day. Our prayer is that all these children will continue coming to our Sunday School to hear about how much Jesus loves them. To God be the glory, great things he has done.
Wendy Holland is Children's Ministry Co-ordinator in the Parish of St Helens. |
