On Sunday, 6th February the chapel congregation prepared a sumptuous morning tea and made a presentation to farewell the Rev. Elvie Fraser after she led her last service at St Paul's Chapel in the Launceston General Hospital. Seven years ago Elvie Fraser began taking a service each month in St Paul's Chapel. In those days we didn't have a musician so Elvie would bring her auto-harp to provide music, as well as taking the whole service. Now members take part in the service and we have musicians. PracticalElvie has always given us something very practical to think about. Many patients from her old parishes have been surprised and encouraged to see her during their stay in hospital and we have come to know and love Elvie, so we are sorry she is leaving. We thank God for every remembrance of her and will continue to remember her with great joy. |
