Double Click - Using digital cameras

by Andrew Lang

Using digital cameras like other photography is a skill that comes with practice. The usual principles of photography apply - framing the shot, lighting and background.

Digital cameras have a number of limitations. Usually there is a delay between the click and the shutter which means that taking photos of moving objects is difficult and slow shutter speeds in poor light mean there is the risk of blur. Light is the most significant factor: too bright or too low reduces the quality of the shots. These cameras work best in average lighting.

The best thing about using digital photography is that you have the chance to review your work and try again. When you get a new camera take the opportunity to experiment with it, and determine its limitations. Tips and help may be found on line at sites like www.ehow.com/ categorymap-1043-8.html or you can Google it.
