Glenview Home Ladies' Auxiliary Golden Jubilee

The Glenview Home Ladies' Auxiliary celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Monday, 15 November with an afternoon tea at the Home.

The special occasion was hosted by the Board of Management and the large gathering of past and present members of the Auxiliary included foundation member Mrs Emily Wherrett.

In welcoming the guests, Board Chairman, Mr Kerry Bowerman spoke on the significant contribution by the Auxiliary since its formation in 1954, six years after the opening of Glenview. He presented the Auxiliary President, Mrs Margaret Maynard, with a bound annual record of the items provided by the Auxiliary to the Home.

A highlight of the function was the conferral of Life Membership on Mrs Beryl Ransley who has been a member of the Auxiliary for 36 years, including terms as President and Secretary. A certificate of appreciation was also presented to Mrs Ransley's husband, Dudley, for his support and contribution to Auxiliary activities over the same period of time.

The special 50th birthday cake was cut by Mrs Maynard and the Auxiliary Patroness, Mrs Genevieve Tacey.
