Mrs Beryl Langley was born on the 12th July 1907 at Wynyard, Tasmania and died on the 30th July 2004 at St Leonards where she had lived since 1939. Mrs Langley attended Wynyard State School and Devonport High School. She married Vernon Langley at Burnie in 1936 and started teaching in 1942 when she was a temporary school teacher at St Leonards School (for thirteen and a half years!) and at Waverley School for several years after that. Beryl attended St Peter's Church at St Leonards for sixty years, for fifty of which she played the organ. Beryl also taught Sunday School and held the offices of Parish Secretary and Treasurer for many years. Beryl was loyal and supportive of our various rectors and enjoyed the love, support and respect of our congregation. Vale, Beryl |
