Just a thought

by David Rogers-Smith

I recently took my family to the Westbury maze - amazing!

The kids charged off confidently, only to get lost again and again. The paths created by the hedges were extremely narrow, and it was a relief to find wider paths, only to find they ended in dead ends. We were all greatly relieved to eventually arrive at the destination.

I couldn't help but think of Jesus' words: 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me' (John 14.6). Similarly, King Solomon said, ' There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death' (Proverbs 14:12).

There is a way to friendship with God and to heaven, the way God himself has provided - through his Son. All other ways may seem hopeful but are dead ends.
