No chance of God being gagged by this lot!

Has God been gagged???

Chris Stafferton

There was no chance of God being gagged at the Rural Bible Forum, held at St Luke's, Latrobe on Saturday 18 September.

People came from as far as Wynyard and Launceston to the first Rural Bible Forum, where the Rev. Markus Richardson from Glen Waverly Anglican Church (Melbourne) spoke God's word to a gathering of people from a number of different churches and denominations.

Markus showed us from Hebrews 1 that God speaks to us most clearly and directly through Jesus. And, it is through His powerful word that all things were made and are sustained.

Beloved

Markus likened God's word to us, to a letter from a beloved. Others may struggle to understand it, but the one to whom it is written will cherish and treasure it. We were also reminded (from 2 Corinthians 4 and 5) that as people who God has reconciled to himself through Jesus, we are His ambassadors, entrusted with the responsibility of carefully, faithfully and truthfully taking God's message of reconciliation and hope to others.

But, as ambassadors we are not just talkers - we are called to be 'see-through' representatives of our King and His Kingdom; the 'word made flesh' working in and through us.

More in 2005

The Rural Bible Forum is a ministry of the Anglican Parish of Latrobe. It will be held three times each year, bringing nationally-recognised Bible teachers to rural Tasmania. Dates for 2005 are 14 May, 2 July and 27 August.
