Brother Andrew has been an internationally respected servant of God for 50 years because of his ministry to persecuted Christians worldwide. His autobiographical book, God's Smuggler, has sold over 10 million copies while being translated into 35 languages. Brother Andrew, founder of Open Doors International - the oldest on-going ministry to the Persecuted Church - is now 76 years old but he still travels to some of the world's most dangerous places such as the Middle East. In his new book, Light Force: The Only Hope for the Middle East, co-authored by Open Doors' Al Janssen, Brother Andrew chronicles his ministry to the Persecuted Church in the Middle East and his mission to bring the hope of the Gospel to this volatile part of the world. AlternativeAt a time of increasing violence, Brother Andrew states in Light Force that there is hope for the Middle East - and that hope is found in a living, thriving Church. He writes: 'My purpose is to encourage and strengthen the local believers to be a Light Force, an alternative to military might.' The book includes dramatic stories of people who are caught in the crossfire of this centuries-old conflict. Brother Andrew says that 'Anyone is reachable for the Kingdom; anyone is winnable. But we must go to them with the love of Jesus.' This radical message led Brother Andrew to meet with Islamic fundamentalist groups as an ambassador for Christ. These meetings are detailed in Light Force. CompellingBob Guy, director of Open Doors Australia, says: 'Light Force is a riveting and often provocative book (and) details Brother Andrew's passion and compassion for the Church and bringing the Light of Jesus to one of the world's on-going hot spots. Like God's Smuggler, it is compelling reading. ' Light Force is published by Hodder & Stoughton. In bookstores or from the Open Doors website.
