Kuala Lumpur (ENI)Churches and non-governmental organizations in Southeast Asia are being urged to do much more for 'undocumented children' whose stateless parents have often fled from their homelands because of violence, forced displacement, or economic deprivation. 'These children face exploitation through practices such as economic and sexual exploitation and human trafficking,' said Arist Merdeka Sirait of the Advocacy Centre for Children in Need of Special Protection in Indonesia, at a meeting in Kuala Lumpur jointly organized by the World Council of Churches and the Christian Conference of Asia. [ENI-04-0593] Geneva (ENI)Francis House, an Anglican priest, broadcaster and church unity pioneer who has been called an unsung hero of efforts to rescue persecuted Christians and Jews from Hitler's Germany, has died aged 96. 'His courage, linguistic abilities and sense of justice made him a trusted agent for numerous dangerous journeys, both as a student and a priest, throughout the 1930s,' commented Alan Webster, the former dean of St Paul's Cathedral in London, writing in The Guardian newspaper.
