Forgive the long delay since that last general letter, but we have both suffered continuing heavy workloads. As well as new courses to prepare and deliver, research grants and arrangements to attend to and loads of references to write, we have churches to help, sermons to prepare, and continuing Nepali language lessons. Do pray for the Christian growth of the young people! And it's still the hot sticky monsoon season! It rains most days or overnight but this year we have had few of the awful landslips and washaways that so damaged the middle hill districts of Nepal last year. Our garden isn't looking so good either, but in a month it may recover. I must say my English parsnips, and the sweetcorn, are good! But all the cabbage I planted turned out to be bad cauliflower. We are well and have not needed any medical services since leaving Tasmania 15 months ago. We have strenuous walks on Saturdays, I race up and down hill to work daily for 10km on my bike, and I now have 163 steps at the university between my new Pico Hydro Turbine laboratory and my office. We feel we are being obedient doing what the Lord has set out for us to do here. We love our students and young people, and we are thrilled to see all that the Lord is doing in some parts of this country. Fun occasionAfter the students' last commitment on their last day of semester Margaret and I had all 12 of them (plus a research assistant) up to dinner and to stay the night. It was a fun occasion, though we took a little time to relax. Margaret prepared a grand dinner for all 15 of us. They all stayed the night and after breakfast we had more chatting and prayer. We thank many folk for your faithful prayer that made this such a good night. Please keep Nepal in your prayers. And don't forget my students and graduates. We shall return to Tasmania for 3-4 weeks from mid-December, for our compulsory annual holiday which we have not had for over a year. Probably we will return for good next August 2005, if we can stay that long! So don't forget the letters; they are marvellous.
