Friendship and support for refugees

by Jan Allan

For ten years a small group of parishioners has given support to refugees being settled in Australia. Over that time, the group has helped a total of 38 refugees. Some have moved to the Mainland but we still maintain our friendship with those who remain in Hobart. It is a great joy to share in their lives and in their celebrations. As the group membership has become depleted and as there are not enough active members to cope with the settlement tasks for new arrivals, the decision has been made to discontinue the group.
