AWF Day - a time for worship, prayer and encouragement

Anglican Women's Fellowship Day

by Ronnie Palmer

The Anglican Women's Fellowship Day was held at Holy Trinity, Ulverstone on 10 August, a great day commencing with a very warm welcome from the Rev. Canon Neville Newett and the women of the parish. The Lord answered our prayer for beautiful weather - wonderful for participants travelling from further along the coast.

We adjourned to the church for a worship, prayer and encouragement. Mrs Meryl Newett was clearly under the anointing of the Holy Spirit as she addressed us to encourage us in every area of our lives to walk and talk with our Lord and also to go out in His love to be encouragers to those whom God brings across our path. (Her words are appropriate to our whole diocese - contact Ronnie Palmer if you would like more details.)

Blessed

Our afternoon guest speaker, Margaret Gibbs followed through the theme of encouragement by sharing her walk with God from childhood and showed us how that even in the lowest times God is there if we will but turn to Him and be obedient to His will. Just as when Jesus came walking on the water to the disciples in the boat being tossed about by the winds and waves we too can cry out to Jesus and know that He'll help us in the middle of our storms of life.

Yes, this was a great day of the Love of God being shared among us by all who attended and by all who worked to bring this day to reality.

We were also blessed with the company of our State President Mrs Alison Ison and State Secretary Mrs Elaine Davies, who are currently working on our 2005 conference to be held in Bellerive.

The offering of the day will help Chaplaincy in the Ulverstone High School.

Our next Fellowship Day which will be at St Stephen's, Smithton on 14 October when our guest speaker will be Jennifer Minol from King Island.
