Could you help with this?
Reaching Pakistanis for Jesus

September 11, 2001 changed many things related to missions in Pakistan and around the world, not the least of which is a sharply reduced number of foreign Christian workers in this country, the seventh largest by population in the world.

In what ways can we effectively assist Pakistani Christians to reach their fellows with the good news of Jesus Christ?

A quietly effective if unglamorous project is the Pakistan Bible Correspondence Institute, PBCI. An inter-mission ministry, the Institute advertises openly in Pakistan's newspapers, offering portions of the Taurate (Books of Moses), Zaboor (Psalms) and Injeel (Gospels) to students who enrol in the courses. After completing three units, students receive a copy of the New Testament, and after nine units a copy of the Bible.

TEAM

The Rawalpindi base is staffed by four Pakistani Christians and supported by TEAM, the Evangelical Alliance Mission based in Wheaton, Illinois. The cost of providing course material, postage and support for a year works out at a little under $A60 per student.

Students are invited and encouraged to attend fellowship meetings held periodically. In that setting, students are encouraged to ask questions and an interactive Bible study is presented. In addition to this, students who request it are visited by a PBCI staff member. Students are encouraged to visit the office for fellowship and clarification of questions. The program also makes use of the Jesus video.

If you or your church or group are able and challenged to support this quiet work financially and/or through prayer, Sue and Russell Morton 0407 535 080 will be most happy to provide further information and to pass on donations directly to PBCI.
