Six Tasmanian Anglicans who seem to share these same beliefs received awards for service to their community, in the Queen's Birthday Honours list this year.

Member (AM) of the Order of Australia

The Reverend Dr Thomas Wallace AM, Margate. For service to education, particularly in the Anglican school system, in the area of curriculum development and sociological values and ethics.

Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia

Doris Banks OAM, Sandy Bay. For service to the community through aged care, educational, church and craft organisations. Member of Anglican Parish of BayWest as Secretary, St Peter's Guild since 1975.

Marie Ducat OAM, Sandy Bay. For service to the community of Hobart, particularly Meals on Wheels. Busy member of BayWest, Sandy Bay.

Terry Heggaton OAM, Longford, Tas. For service to the sheep and cattle industries in Tasmania and to the community of Launceston. Member of the Board of the Launceston Church Grammar School (1976-1986) and Chairman (1983-1986). Lay Reader at Christ Church, Longford.

Audrey Smith OAM, Montrose. For service to the communities of Glenorchy and Montrose in music, refugee support, Red Cross. Parishioner and organist at St Paul's, Glenorchy.

The Reverend Christopher Stafferton OAM, Latrobe. For service to members of the Australian Defence Force through the Military Christian Fellowship of Australia. Current Priest in Charge, Parish of Latrobe.
