Alternative Software (Pt 1)

by Andrew Lang

On many of our new computers we find that there is software that already comes with the machine and often when we begin to use the computer we will tend to stick with what is already there. Sadly, these are not always the best or most flexible of programs and there are often alternatives available at little or no cost.

Although many people use Microsoft Outlook for their email, it is not always the most user-friendly. If you are having problems with it a couple of alternative options are Eudora (www.eudora.com) and Pegasus (www.pmail.com).

Eudora is available as adware (you get little ads and you can choose the kind of ads you are interested in, but pay nothing) or you can purchase an ad-free version at $US 49.95. Pegasus is freeware. Both offer a superior, more robust product than Outlook.

Why not give it a try?
