Guess who?
ABM notes

If you guessed that the person in the photo on page 6 of the June Tasmanian Anglican was Bishop Alan Migi of PNG - you were correct!

He had never encountered snow before and appreciated his borrowed beanie and gloves. Bishop Migi visited several centres in Tasmania and was warmly welcomed by everyone.

He is a lively and entertaining speaker and those who heard him learned much about the difference he is making in his Diocese, through his setting up of training schemes for clergy and lay people.

ABM projects

The Vocational Centres across PNG are training men and women with skills that give hope for the future.

(PNG) Bishop Roger Jupp sees the renewal of the clergy as key to the renewal and revitalization of the diocese. He believes firmly that local training programs need to be established which will focus on spirituality, preaching, teaching and liturgy.

The Diocese of Popondota needs a Diocesan Secretary and the Anglican Church in Papua New Guinea has asked Australia to help.

Please pray for:

  • The right person to hear God’s call to go to Popondota
  • Evangeline and Judy as they run the office
  • Bishop Roger as he offers leadership in the Diocese
  • Pray for St Christopher’s Technical Training School at Popondota and its students learning practical skills to be used in their village environment.
  • Pray for the Anglican Education Division and its efforts to revitalise St Christopher’s and provide valuable vocational training to the young people of rural PNG.
