Deepening their journey of faith

The Ministry Certificate Course has been offered at St James' and St Andrew's New Town-Lenah Valley over the last three years.

This course is more than a Bible Study and is not too academic to be beyond anyone who is serious about their Christian journey. The course offers six areas of discovery including Experiencing Faith, Understanding the Old Testament, Understanding the New Testament, The Story of the Church, Confessing Faith and Serving Christ Today, with a form of assessment which requires the participants to research and write an essay or complete a group project.

Audited

Alternatively the units can be audited by following the weekly reading and participation in group discussion. Each week there are four ministries to be shared by the participants: worship, news of the week, journal and hospitality.

Over the last three years several people at St James' and St Andrew's have joined the group and completed individual units while others have completed all six. Anne Davis, David Thomas and Heather Vearing have completed all six units and agree that the time spent studying and sharing in the group has helped them to understand more deeply their journey of faith.

Details of the course can be obtained from Diocesan Office or from Neil Vearing at St James' and St Andrew's.
