There were all kinds of bears!

Teddy bears having a wonderful time

by Bruce Mitchell

'Tedward' the Teddy Bear led a service at St Mary's, Kempton for all sorts of bears - large and small, young and old.

'Blue Bear' was in the Pulpit and 'Dry-as-a-Bone Blue', the dog, made sure that everybear did the right thing!

Unconditional love

'Hamish', Isabella's Teddy, explained that Teddy Bears are like Jesus, their arms always open to welcome people with unconditional love.

The bears brought their owners who were also young and old, and with the bears, they too enjoyed the service and the picnic that followed in the hall afterwards. The bears were not sure about a game which involved pinning a tail on a bear - we suspect that it would have been rather painful. However, the fairy bread and honey, as well as our choccie replicas were enjoyed by all.

Afterwards we all went home for a sleep, for we were tired little teddy bears, but we are looking forward to the next service when we can get together.
