Bishop John recently announced that Capt. Tim Scheuer will be our keynote speaker at ministry conference this year. Tim is the recently appointed National Director of the Church Army in Australia. He has spent the last 15 years working with the Church Army. After being commissioned as an evangelist in 1989, he served in the parishes of St John's, Bega and St Anne's, Ryde. Pioneering In 1995 Tim and his family moved to Branson, Missouri USA to establish a base of evangelism for Church Army USA. There they were challenged with the task of evangelism among the most marginalised people in a tourist boom-town. A new congregation was planted among the working poor, a team of leaders was raised up from the harvest and the Cambridge Project (a residential discipling program for recovering drug addicts and alcoholics), was started. Tim and his family returned to Australia in June 2003 in order to lead the Church Army in a new season of pioneering evangelistic endeavour. Tim is a passionate communicator and a gifted leader whose vision includes energising the Anglican Church as they work to seek and save what was lost. Strategically placedTim's will lead us in four keynote sessions during the weekend. His topic titles are,
The conference this year is strategically placed to help all of us move forward in mission. The program will provide a mix of stimulating input and some very practical tools for mission. I would encourage every one of you to attend and to bring a team from each parish and organisation in the Diocese.
