Making sheep, West Tamar style

Family worship is fun for everyone.

Family worship is fun

from the Parish of West Tamar

How wonderfully God is at work in our midst when we are channels for His mission!

The Parish of West Tamar recently commenced a 5 p.m. family service, to be held on the first Sunday of each month.

This adds to the traditional morning services and has been welcomed as being more oriented to younger members. The two services held to date have been well attended with approximately fifty-six people at each, with children participating.

The service has songs, prayers and storytelling with congregation participation, action songs for the young, and a time out for children's craft activity whilst the readings and homily are heard by the adults; the children return with their craft to show.

Sheep

At the latest service we finished with a conga dance to the final song 'We are marching in the light of God' and everyone exited in high spirits. (Holy spirits, of course!)

Our theme was 'sheep', and included the story of the lost sheep, making a sheep for each child, and the homily 'feed my sheep.'

The ecumenical support we received was much appreciated. It is the International Year of the Family and we trust with God's blessing which has been evident throughout, to aspire to great things in this new venture.
