On Saturday 13 March members of the Anglican Men's Society held their State Council meeting at Christ Church, Longford. We were privileged to have our State President, Bishop John, lead us in Holy Communion, chair the meeting and join us for lunch. Bishop John's input was inspirational and brotherly. After the service, State Lay-president Ron Miller inducted Robert Harcourt-White as a Diocesan member. We now have ten Diocesan members throughout the State. (This membership classification applies to members who for various reasons, do not belong to a branch of A.M.S. They are nevertheless in every sense equal members.) We are pleased to announce that half a dozen members will attend the National Conference in Newcastle, NSW, at the end of April. Tasmania will indeed, be well represented. A day for ALL Anglicans - Fellowship Day 2004Following the success of the previous two such days in 2001 and 2002 we decided that A.M.S. will sponsor their third Fellowship Day. This will be on Saturday 23 October at Illawarra near Longford, at the Mount Ireh property, where stands the historic and beautiful Illawarra Christ Church. Make a diary note to be there: Further details in the next few months. |
