Share in a growing ministry

Over many years Neville Newett has shared in the privilege of ministry in hospitals and homes, and greatly appreciates the fine medical and personal care that he sees.

But he has also seen the heart needs of people and families, crying out tor God's mercy, love, help, healing, forgiveness, peace, hope and salvation in Christ. Here, he asks readers to consider how they might support this vital and very demanding ministry.

This ministry of great importance, for many years confined mainly to hospitals and homes for the elderly, is now spreading to the wider community, sharing the love and compassion of Jesus our Lord with students, prisoners, ambulance and police officers, and other workers in industry.

In our Diocese the Rev. Eric Cave and other faithful servants have seen an increase in demand for the services of chaplains and a training program has been developed for this ministry. With this increase in demand there is a need for increased support.

Firstly, prayer is of the utmost importance; secondly you may be able personally to contact a chaplain, or your local minister to see how you can help.

And thirdly, of immediate need is financial support. With the growing ministry are growing costs. Would each reader prayerfully consider a financial gift to this very vital ministry?

All gifts and annual subscriptions are tax-deductible and I would call on all Christian business people to make generous and regular donations to this worthwhile ministry.

Can you help? God loves a cheerful giver. Your personal, practical and prayerful support can help bring great blessing to many people and glory to God our Father.

Remember: prayers for all chaplains and their ministries can be offered each day!
