Here's a number of happy menfolk attending the Men's 14 Cursillo at Montgomery Park in 2003.

Cursillo - a great foundation

Janet Connolly

People are still asking what Cursillo is about, although it has been in Tasmania for almost ten years.

Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning 'short course'.

Lots of singing, fellowship, and laughter are a natural by-product as a three-day Cursillo unfolds. Short talks are given, followed by discussion and workshops. A spiritual advisor is available for those who may have needs or issues, and a Healing Service is held at the closure of the last day.

Many people are encouraged and blessed by the Cursillo environment and find new strength and purpose as they return to their various parish, workplace and family environment.

Another blessing of Cursillo is that people who have met and journeyed through the three-day experience continue to share their faith and experience with each other as their friendship and fellowship deepen. One person recently said that 'Cursillo is a great foundation for your Christian faith for the rest of your life.'
