On Saturday 21 November 1903 at 3.30pm the foundation stone of the new church of St Mark's, Bellerive was laid by His Excellency the Governor, Sir Arthur Havelock. On Sunday 9 November 2003, parishioners and friends gathered for the 100th Anniversary Eucharist, where a warm welcome was extended to Bishop John Harrower who was guest preacher. Following the service, a soup and sandwich luncheon was served in the hall. We thank God for the vision of those gone before, and the fulfilment of that vision. Step by step we have completed the church and parish centre where fellowship, friendship, comforting love and practical help are found. |
