Buying on-line

One of the great opportunities of the Internet is commerce.

With the ready access to plastic it is possible to buy not only in Australia, but from throughout the world. This need not be feared, as it is a natural extension to our normal trading activity, nevertheless care must be take as with all commercial transactions.

Like going to a shop, you must rely on the honesty of the trader when you hand over your credit card. If you choose to supply your details to <www.dodgeybrothers.com> or <www.iwillripuoff.com> then you should not be surprised if problems result. Choose reputable companies.

In electronic transactions, it is possible for someone to intercept the transaction and record your details for their own benefit. For this reason, it is important that all transactions be carried out using secure sites. (Your browser usually warns you when you enter/leave one of these.)

Finally, be aware of the currency and the distance. Any price in US dollars looks cheap and often is but freight can be expensive. With these simple things in mind you should be able to buy with safety, but if you are still unsure, most companies will provide other options for payment. On-line is good for finding comparison prices as well as the possibility of products around. Remember there are only a few more on-line shopping days till Christmas.

Happy on-line shopping.
