Valiantly, Helen Terry sets out for church.

 

Now that's dedication!

 

 

The heavy rains in September caused flooding in the Derwent River and Allenvale Rivulet, and on Sunday 21 September Helen and Robin Terry were prevented by flood-waters from leaving their home to go to church at St Mary's, Gretna.

Not to be deterred, they rowed across the flooded bridge with flowers for the church and two cream cakes to celebrate Martin and Lucy's birthdays at morning tea after church.

Mind you, they did have the foresight to put a car over the bridge before the flood-waters got too deep!
