Twenty-one members were present at the State Council Meeting of the AMS at St Anne's Church in Lutana on Saturday the 20th September. This was the best attendance for more than ten years and included six members who travelled from Longford and one from Devonport. The Ladies' Guild of St Anne's provided morning tea and lunch and joined members for a Communion Service led by the Revd Mark Pearce, prior to the meeting. AMS in Tasmania is expanding - albeit slowly - and state-wide activities are being planned to help develop this expansion. On a national level, the Anglican Men's Society will produce a publication entitled A Book of Witness, to coincide with the celebration in 2005, of the Society's 100 years in Australia. Very activeThe AMS's National Chairman, the Right Rev'd Colin Sheumack, was in Tasmania recently in his capacity as the ABM National Auxiliary Patron. Bishop Colin was guest speaker at the ABM-A Annual Luncheon at St Aidan's in Lindisfarne and he was pleasantly surprised to see four AMS members present. The members were more than pleased to meet up with their National Chairman! Diocesan Members: we have a number of very active diocesan members throughout the State. These are members who belong to those parishes where there is not a branch of the Anglican Men's Society.
