The community health workers and clinics are vital points for people to access health services and information in rural Myanmar. The project will continue to build on the Community Health Worker Program, with the establishment of health posts, health education, home nursing support and emergency transport. It will also include a focus on HIV/AIDS, addressing prevention and management of HIV/AIDS. While conditions are poor for many in Myanmar¸ the military rule has made it particularly difficult for the many displaced people who have been forced from their land and who live in refugee camps, or in areas with very little, if any, access to public services. ABM has been working in conjunction with the Church of Myanmar for some years to improve health conditions for the people. |
