Rev. Will Briggs and Mrs Beryl Pridham with the seven newest members of GFS at St David's, Cooee

Who said 'GFS an Anglican Mission' has gone into recess'?

by Beryl Pridham

Well, not at St David's Cooee!

Sunday 3 August proved to be a busy but memorable day for GFS when seven girls were enrolled into the Girls Friendly Society.

Rev. William Briggs, presented the girls with their badges and spoke to them and the congregation about LOVE - the different types of love, but the greatest of all being God's love shared with them and how important it was in every life.

The girls took an active part in the service and provided morning tea, with scones and cream, for the congregation. A trade table set up by the girls and their mums, with the help of the parishioners, raised $200, which will be forwarded to the Bible Society project 'Bibles for China.'

To the onlooker, the whole experience was heartwarming, knowing how excited the girls were to be able to help their brothers and sisters in China to have a bible of their very own.

Love thy neighbour.
