Fundraising has been our main activity in the Hamilton Parish over the past few months. On Friday the 13 June we held a Trivia Night in aid of St Peter's, Hamilton. It was cold and wet and snowing, but that didn't stop a hardy carload from Bothwell from attending. Their perseverance paid off: they won most of the major prizes! CateringIn conjunction with the Trivia Night, a very clever Treasure Hunt was organised, based on cryptic clues associated with a map of the region. This was very popular. Later the same month the ladies from several centres combined to provide and serve an Ausmas meal at Wayatinah: a successful venture. Catering is a good fund-raiser for us, especially as we don't have competition from the professionals, as in the cities. We are quite busy preparing food for various events in our area. It is also a golden opportunity for members of the various centres to join together in a social activity with a purpose. |
