Good rewards in AMS

by Trevor G Cowell

The Annual General Meeting of the Longford Branch of the Anglican Men's Society was held on July 13.

Lay-president Trevor reported on the wonderful year the Branch had negotiated, the highlight being the AMS 2003 National Conference held in the district. He paid tribute to all members for their enthusiasm and cooperation during the year and mentioned especially the great sense of fellowship enjoyed within the Branch and when Longford gathers with other AMSers across the Diocese at State meetings.

Office bearers from 2002/3 were re-elected for another year and salaries remained as they have been in the past!

A program to take the Branch well into 2004 was drafted and the only thing missing from an otherwise excellent meeting was more members! But isn't that a problem facing the whole Church? At Longford at least, we take the challenge of empty pews and general disinterest pretty seriously and AMS in the Parish is playing its part in meeting that challenge!
