A small working group is busy planning for the 'Summer View Conference 2004'. In a previous edition of the Tasmanian Anglican you may have noticed that next year the dates will be Tuesday 13 to Saturday the 17 January. This was not a mistake. It was decided in response to some comments, and a few clergy who leave on the Saturday, that the conference could be moved one day in the week earlier. This could suit more people. Our Bible Study Leader will be the Reverend Peter Rogers, who until 2001 was a lecturer in the Theological College of East Indonesia, and we are hoping that Russell and Sue Morton will be able to be part of the Conference. The CMS speaker will probably be Faith Blake, the Mission Personnel Secretary. The working group is also giving attention to incorporating programs for the youth and children as part of the overall activities. ArrangementsSea View Conference Centre, where many will be staying, continues to improve the facilities. For those staying elsewhere it is good to start making arrangements early. The working group expects to have an 'Information and Booking' leaflet available early in September. However if you contact Mrs Jean Blyth now, [83 Gordon Hill Road, Lindisfarne, 7015 phone 6243 7139], you can indicate that you plan to come. |
