Mission Afloat news

  • Montgomery Park is being used increasingly by school groups as the term gets under way. The young students enjoy their time on the water, and are keen on the new land-based activities such as volleyball and the golf course. We look forward to working with Chris Dolliver at Fusion who will be available to take abseiling with groups.
  • The equipment for the restoration of the two TS16s has been kindly donated by Anglicare, and the Work For The Dole participants are helping with the project. This is the first of two TS16s being transformed and help is needed to complete the task soon.
  • Young Aussie, a youth initiative much like Mission Afloat, has recently voted to support us to the tune of $50 per month!
  • The promotional visits to schools have been successful. Principals have responded well to the offer of a free day for a class and are booking in groups, sometimes for longer periods.
  • Congratulations! Ian Edwards has completed the Diocesan Safe Ministries process. This involves attendance at a seminar, a panel interview and some paperwork, and is a necessary prerequisite for leaders of children at Mission Afloat (or anywhere in the Anglican Church).
