The church at the centre of your community?

Across Tasmania Christians are asking questions like: 'Why are we drifting more and more to the margins of our community? The Gospel is the Good News! How can we communicate it in a way that has impact for Christ's Kingdom? How can we work to unite our community and work against the tide of fragmentation and isolation that is tearing us apart and robbing our kids of a future?'

The Awakening Expo Day hosted by Fusion Australia at Poatina Resort Village is a day designed with these questions in mind. The aim of the day is to equip and inspire ordinary people to have a role in bringing to life communities where kids and families are cared for and the Christian Church is at the heart and not the margins.

Exposition

The Awakening Expo Day is a hands-on exposition of opportunities to transform communities, which uniquely fits this moment. There will be workshops on how to run festivals which bring the Kingdom of God to the heart of a city and draw the churches into the centre of the community; how drama, clowning, puppetry, balloon sculpture, and face painting can be used as valuable outreach tools; how to connect young people into Statewide Day Trips and how these can be used to motivate and train your local church youth group in mission and outreach.

There will also be opportunity to meet other Christians who have a heart for their communities and inspire and encourage each other. If you want to have a part to play in the next steps of the Aussie Awakening then this is simply a day you need to take part in.
