On Sunday 25 November 2002 members of St James and St Andrew gathered at St Andrew's Lenah Valley to celebrate the ministry of St Andrew. The service began with the worship leaders being piped into the church by a member of the Tasmanian Police Pipe Band and what followed was a feast of singing, preaching and fellowship. This year's theme was 'The building blocks of our faith' and the church was decorated with bricks, wheel barrows, ladders and every kind of tool that can be used in the building trade. No wallsThe children's talk asked the question 'Who is going to deliver the invitation?' And the guest speaker The Reverend Val Graydon from the Tasmanian Council of Churches spoke about building a personal faith that is lived out in a church with no walls &emdash; that the faith God has given us is to be shared amongst all people. The service ended with the Piper leading the worship leaders from the church into the hall where a shared meal which was enjoyed by all those present. |
