Saint David's Cathedral is in in the heart of Hobart. 'Flowers in Celebration' the 35th Ecumenical and Community Floral Festival will be on the weekend of 14th to 16th February 2003 from 9 am to 5 pm Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and 9 - 10 am and 11 - 2 pm Sunday. The Official Opening on Thursday 13th February at 8 pm will be by Father Brian Nichols, Administrator - St Mary's Cathedral, followed by refreshments. Admission is free. A Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service will be on Sunday 16th at 10 am. All Welcome A Floral Festival Concert will be held on Sunday 16th from 2 pm - 3.30 pm. Donation $5 Refreshments will be available Friday and Saturday in Church House - $2.50 Also as part of the Festival will be 'Summer Fragrance' a free exhibition of paintings by members of the Van Diemen Art Group and Dorothy Layton will be a 'Painter in Residence'. Paintings will be for sale in Church House. Members of the Hobart Embroiderers' Guild Inc. will have an exhibition of embroidery in the Nave and there will be a plant stall in the Cloisters. Service Times: Friday 9.05 am, 12.05 pm, 12.45 pm, Sunday 8.00 am, 10.00 am, 7.00 pm The Floral Festival is supported by the Hobart City Council. |
