Community spirit in South Hobart |

The community spirit of South Hobart is being fostered by All Saints Church in Macquarie Street. Although the church site is hemmed in by traffic and development, it is quite an oasis of calm and creative activity. All Saints encourages the use of its premises by local art groups. There are specialist art classes in rubber stamping, pastel-drawing and tassel-making, amongst others. Visiting artists conduct workshops on visual arts. Located in the hall is Bibiani Studio, where local artist Pru Quarmby teaches and produces her eclectic range of greeting cards, handmade books and paper, and decorative crafts. Community craft groups meet here regularly and Yvonne O'Neill uses the light and airy studio to produce her increasingly well-known range of All Saints Christmas cards. Together with its Monastery Garden All Saints will be a quiet place of retreat in a busy world.
For information about Bibiani Studio and All Saints' garden phone Yvonne O'Neill 6223 1795 or Pru Quarmby 0409 391 426. |
