The Parish of Longford/Perth is gearing-up to meet the challenge of the 2003 National Conference of the Anglican Men's Society which the Tasmanian Branch of AMS is hosting and Longford is to be the centre of the action! This may well be the first time in any recent memory that the Parish has been on the national church scene in such a way. Although the men of the Parish - especially AMS-ers- will bear the responsibility of getting things organised for the 28 Feb &endash; 2 March weekend, the women too will play a big part - as thankfully they do in any parish in any Diocese! Sunday, 2 March is the big activity day although a pretty solid Saturday is being planned for wives of delegates who will be 'in conference' that day.The parish is hoping that its invitation to men of the Diocese and partners to join AMS delegates at Brickendon Estate, Longford, and Woolmers Estate for a great Sunday social gathering will be taken-up across the whole Diocese. This could be a great opportunity for Anglicans in Tasmania to meet others from across Australia. Please note the date in your 2003 diaries!
